A luxe DTC hotel FTW
Just southeast of downtown, our hotel’s near Denver Tech Center — or DTC, as those in the know would say — a hotbed for technology with a variety of innovative businesses, from local startups to international giants. It all started in the ’70s with a fiber optic line that was appealing to cable companies; today, it’s turned into a home base for businesses like Western Union, Charles Schwab, Fidelity, Arrow Electronics, DISH, Xero, RingCentral, and Zoom. That makes conferences and conventions particularly prominent in our neighborhood, but there’s much more to DTC than business. Mix in a little fun, too, with these activities:
- Opt outside at Cherry Creek State Park, anchored by a reservoir for all your water recreation wants, from kayaking and paddle boarding to jet skiing and fishing. If you’d rather stay on dry land, try horseback riding or model airplane flying.
- Get a good chuckle at Comedy Works South at the Landmark, which features a mix of seasoned stars and up-and-comers. Have dinner at the adjacent Lucy Restaurant before the show to get preferred seating.
- Tee off at Topgolf Centennial, where the high-tech balls score themselves in a series of games where you can take aim at different targets, all while eating, drinking, and catching the latest game on the big-screen TVs.
